Why COETS? (Or, how did it all begin.)I think that my deep interest towards the world of astronautics and rockets started as such (unless it started in a Sant Joan's night) in summer 1983, during my first (and for the moment being only) visit to NASA's Kennedy Space Center. My brother and I were taking English lessons for two months in Maryland, in the East coast. When the classes were over we were taken down south to Florida (were, I must confess, I also enjoyed myself quite a bit in Disneyworld). At the Kennedy Space Center, we had the opportunity to see, among many other space-age "gadgets" and facilities, the interior of a command module of the Mercury program (the famous bell-shaped capsule), with an astonishingly small space packed with a myriad controls and buttons (¡where astronauts were supposed to also fit in!) We also had the chance to see -still on the runway- the not less impressive and imposing Enterprise, first operating model of space orbiter, which was part of a now well-known reusable space transport system then just starting. Since then, sometimes more sometimes less, I have kept contact with all this world and have conserved an interest in its evolution and incidences. As a Physics student, for instance, I really enjoyed the chance to get a good insight of orbital mechanics, and I always wanted to know more about space technology, which is my main interest nowadays. With the arrival of the internet I can now share my keen interest in rockets and spaceflight with you, web sailors. If you share that interest for space technology and have many unanswered questions, keep coming to this web, or send me an e-mail stating "subscribe" in the Subject field, for regular updates.
